New LED Taillights

If these new taillights are like bmw has done for LCI before they should be plug and play. So 2 questions. 1) when can I get a set? 2) will there be black lines?

For those who don't know with the 1 series when the LCI tails came out you could get the black line versions which were smoked out. Made an awesome difference on the 1er.

Part numbers will probably be only available once the car comes out.

As for the shadow editions, they are only for for the 1 series and 3 series. Which makes sense since these cars are nearing their end of productions and they need to boost sales with these mini-LCIs.

Makes some sense actually. All else fails a very very slight tint on the tail lights should get a good look without compromising brightness especially with the led brightness over the incandescent.

Any idea what the pricing was when the 1 series came out lci?

Reasonable like 400-500 or so.

I'm very willing to pay that for a PnP LED styled tailight honestly. I really do feel like that's the one "lower end feature" on the car.

I'd be up for a pair as well, if the price it right. The MK7's have an LED option for ROW cars, and they're $600usd. I wouldn't pay more than that, personally.

Tuned in for updates.

Makes sense to spend for the right look. They are, after all, the only part of your car anybody should be getting a good look at, right?

I was thinking more about this over the weekend, as I was stuck in traffic behind a Maserati (around here, you don't get to say that often). I was really struck by how generic their taillights are (ditto for several MB's, but perhaps I was just starting to fixate - one this morning I couldn't tell if it was a Civic or an MB). Makes me glad ours have at least some unique styling, and all the more reason to mod it up a bit more.

This was a 2dr coupe, with these generic looking pods; but agreed their 4dr makes the panamera look svelte.

I also have a set of new tail lights here and hope to find the time to install them soon.
It is not completely plug an play since the new ones have a 6 pin plug, but it is not that much work to change the wiring.
Some coding is also necessary, this I got coded on my car (as I said, the light are not installed yet, so no warranty for this):

The connector will fit the new lights but as I wrote there is another pin allocation at the new ones.

So you have to pin out the cables from the old connector and insert it to the correct port on the new connector.

Coding is also needed that's wright. I thought that's clear cause of led and old halogen.
