Actually I think the MPE tips stick out too far. Like the recessed look better. I'm not sure what I'm going to do exhaust wise yet. Not a priority for me right now though. I may just find longer Ti tips.

It was dark and overcast so the pics aren't that great.

OP, if your MPE was for stock diffuser, without moving it out how did they sit with M diffuser? I have a MPE for stock diffuser as well but I don't want to buy the extender for M diffuser. I don't want tips sticking out like yours as long as they don't sit behind the M diffuser. let me know. thanks!

see they dont stick out that much this is correct amount and you can see the M logo on from above, and look better like this than behind diffuser.

I'm about to get the M Perf diffuser. Is there any cutting involved if I kept the exhaust stock bought just the M Perf tips?

yes you could push further back and trim as needed. but i just dont get why you want them hidden inside looks odd and defeats having them as looks great just poking out a little hence they put the M badge engraved on the top. Plus looks great and mean looking side on when you see chrome tips

Heya, thanks for the write up. I was wondering what those metal adapters were for.

The long metal adaptors attach to heat shield at top and bottom of diffuser to add rigidity to it, otherwise is would flap a bit.

My bad. I phrased that badly. I meant to imply, thanks to this thread I figured out what those metal adapters were for.

This is not the case at all you can push with one finger if doing it right. ANYWAY..heres some pics.

I did this in 20 mins with no ramp and no i didnt loosen exhaust either, i just crawled under the car, wasnt too bad.
1. Start by doing the very simple job of removing the standard diffuser. I dont need to explain this, its just a few screws then pull from bottom and side to release the side clips then a little force the top clips pop out too.

2. next unscrew the heat shield, there is 3 small metal screws holding it in place..you can see in this pic.
How did you unscrew the heat shield screws? I could get anything to reach those 3.
