I would use whoever makes you more comfortable. I've always been more comfortable using myself, or my friend who owns a speed shop. That's just me though. If you trust your dealer tech that is good also.

Just got my shipping notice and UPS tracking number from Rogue!

I just triple checked the order, and apparently, I was the ONLY 228i or even 230i, among the other 6 cylinder cars...he made a unique one just for me. I guess in the previous post that long one in the upper right of the photo is headed this way. Outstanding service and caring! Thanks Rogue!

Yep yours was the longer one in the picture in my previous post!

Rogue is a great company. They make select products, but if they make it, it's guaranteed to be a great product.

Mine scheduled tomorrow...did it come with "basic" instructions ?

Both BMW and speed shop asked about instructions, odd this should be pretty straight forward no ?

Yes Rogue supplies general instructions covering the specifics of their products. It isn't chassis specific (ie take 27 8mm bolts off to take off the under panel).

One thing that the instructions might say is to take off the entire exhaust. That isn't necessary on our cars. I removed the two hanger bolts in the back and let the exhaust droop a bit, but it isn't necessary to remove the down pipe connection to the mid pipe.

From my conversation with Rogue, it should be. Not surprised the shops are asking as they don't quite yet know what they will be seeing. Their own labor op manual should have a listing for remove and install shift linkage. With direct replacement parts, it should follow that procedure.

Whomever installs first, please share as much of the experience as possible!

My install is tomorrow. I’ll ask the shop if there was anything unusual about the job. But I suspect that there won’t be.

Ok, mine is done. It works great. The shop said the install was no big deal. I’ve only driven the car about 10 miles so far, but the shifter is probably the best one I’ve had, and that includes the Autosolutions SSK on an E46 M3, the BMW OEM SSK on an E92, and the UUC SSK for this car. The throws of the Rogue are super short and there is very little play in the mechanism. There is also very little NVH. This was totally worth it. And that’s after I already paid to install the UUC 3 years ago. If I bought a 911 and the shifter felt like the rogue, I would be thrilled. It’s that good.
