Anybody running a square 18x9 et42 set up with 235/40r18s?

I have a M240i Xdrive and I want to fill up the wheel wells with something wider and a little taller than the all season 225/40r18s factory set up. I just wanted to know if anyone had a similar set up, My suspensión is stock and will most likely stay that way. Thanks

I think this is the closest you'll come to what you're looking for. If you're just looking to fit a 235mm tire on stock suspension, just don't go as wide on the wheel and you'll save yourself a ton of hassle. Otherwise, you'll need some suspension mods to fit more wheel in the front.

Thanks a bunch, it seems like a 9” rim could be used but Requires work; perhaps I’ll stick to a 8.5” rim bypass the headaches. I’ve read about members using a 8.5 rims in a 35 or 45et while using 235/40r18s

I've digging into a 18 x 8 set, but narrows the selection. Even 8.5 gets close to strut etc. and 245/35 may fit better. Maybe small spacer would help and not have to touch fenders. (depends on look/thickness going for)

Love some BC Forged, but damn $$$$

What about a 245 or 255 square setup on 18 or 19?

I run 235/40/18 on 8 inch wheels with ET35, square. They fill out the wheel well and look great, no rubbing. 2017 M240 xdrive.

That looks pretty nice, I actually ordered 235/40r18 this week; however, I still haven’t decided on the wheels yet.

How much room do you have left in the front and back with that configuration? According to my calculations, if I can get the offset right, I would only poke out 7.4mm (front), and 2.4mm (back) more than your set up, also the added width would be reflected in the rim itself, rather than the tire.

If I can’t make the square 18x9” set up work without having to make a lot of changes to the suspension, then I will most likely run your same set up and call it the day.

Looks pretty much flush to the eye, but i havent measured. No rubbing on fender wells or inside shoulder. Id like to go 17x9 for the track but since Im xdrive, lcas arent an option and im not ready to do coils (yet, would rather wait until the stock adaptive starts feeling its age). Have thought about kmac bushings or maybe camber plates which may get me there.

I have an Xdrive too, are you running neg camber from springs? I haven’t read much about the kmac bushings or if they’re compatible with the xdrive models. I have heard camber plates on stock struts will give you clunking noises, which I’m not crazy about. I’m not planning to track the car, but worse case I’ll look into coilovers/plates.

I'd love to see pics of your setup. I'm basically trying to go the same route but want to use MSS springs and go with a 255/35 square setup with 18x8.5 Arc8 forged.

Take a look at the Millway Camber Plates with polyurethane bushings

https://www.millway.se/camber-plates...0-f31-f32.html

I know of some F30 forum members using these and so far no clunking or major vibration issues. These are really supposed to be for street/daily driven cars. I'm trying to pair this with the MSS springs and 28mm front and 17mm rear sway bar + endlinks.

Stock alignment, no extra camber yet. Search the forum here for kmac. Seems like a nice alternative to avoiding NVH from plates while still giving 1.5-2*deg of camber

Those look perfect. This is a square tire setup?

I'm installing some Dinan springs soon as well, and I feel like this setup would work best without too much modifications to the suspension.

245/35 square on dinan springs. No other suspension mods (yet)
