Dinan Free Flow Exhaust

I volunteer my 228i M-sport to Dinan R&D program and the main project for Dinan was the exhaust but after talking to them they also did some suspension work for my car. I will post more about suspension in the "suspension thread". The cold start sounds great and its not too loud. When I get a chance I will upload video.

Ooh, that looks good. Bet it sounds good, too. Any idea when this may be out of R & D and available to all?

Exhausts and springs (RWD only as we still haven't gotten a xDrive 228i to develop on) should be available to the masses within the next 30-60 days (just depends on how quick production parts can get here).

Fantastic news, I'm in, first day, for the exhaust. Springs might have to wait until warranty expiry. I already have the Dinan Shockware mod.

Nice. The bigger pipe outlets look a lot better, too.

Damn, too bad I couldn't wait any longer and ended up retrofitting the 328 M muffler to my car... Is that 2nd pic of your car with the springs installed? Curious to see how the drop is, I'm assuming just like the M235i springs.

Drop will be 1/2" all the way around.

@Dinan_Engineering, will I need to get my Shockware re-installed after fitting the springs? Will they play nice with each other? Have you tested the car with both Shockware and springs installed? Many thanks.

Shockware and springs play nice together. Ultimately that is how they were designed to function; in tandem. Although each by themselves have their specific benefits as well when used a part from one another.

The shockware would not need to be reinstalled.

Is that half an inch from M sport/THP height or from stock ride height?

One more question: as far as the Dinan springs are concerned, does it make any difference whether or not we have THP/adaptive suspension?

That I am not sure if it matters if you have THP or not, Dinan_Engineering have that answer.

For the springs it does not. They function the same on either setup.

70mm (2.75"). The exhaust is essentially the same exhaust that we offer for the 328i/428i modified to fit the 228i properly.
