I installed one on my 228i a few weeks ago. It definitely makes the car pull harder and helps reduce turbo spool up time since boost levels are generally higher across the board. I wouldn't call the benefit drastic, though -- it's certainly not noticeable all the time like a JB4 or a performance ECU flash would be.

It's basically like a kick in the pants by someone who can make a 60-yard field goal instead of a kick in the pants by someone who can make a 55-yard field goal.

Is it worth $300? Yep.

Will the 240 stage 1 work on a 230? I know the sport tune does. A member is testing this as we speak.

Testing on the B48 on the ELITE unit goes full tilt in a few weeks when we will have multiple associated cars in the shop for testing. As of right now it has never been tested.

I'l be posting stuff in the coming week or so--- lots of releases to get through which is time consuming...

The important part though is they wont begin shipping until the early part of May. More info to follow when time permits.

I am looking for a modest boost in power. I am having a Dinan CAI and exhaust installed soon. Would this give me that factor and since my 228ix is only 9 months old should I be concerned about my warranty. What long term effect would this device have as I plan on keeping my 228 for a long time. Is it compatible to my iPhone. Thanks.

If warranty is a big concern then you probably want to look at the ELITE variant and not the SPORT. That would be the device that matches the factory warranty.

Both devices have iOS apps.

Why not get the Dinan Stage 1 tune for the N26?

OK so I am on on the fence on witch tune to get should I spend the cash and get the stage 1 tune for $1500 or just the Plug and Play for 300 for my N26 what are the real pros and cons??? And my 40k warranty is almost up (yes I drive that much) I have less then 8k to go and yes I read the specs on both but it honestly all sounds like marketing to me

Installed it a few days ago, waited for the engine to get used to it in Sport+ before reving-it all out. This thing works, wow! In race mode, you get enough to play in stock N55 territory with an intake and an high flow exhaust. Love it.

For everyone with one of these, do you just leave it in RACE mode all the time for max boost in your day-to-day driving?

Running mine in Sport + setting, not Race. Only been on for 6 weeks but I can feel the difference. The engine is more responsive and urgent. 2015 228i

ok, so i'm finally going to bite the bullet on this training wheels tune -- never had any tune installed in any car ever, so i'm a bit gun shy since i'm a high mileage driver.

reviews on the apple appstore for the associated are...ummm...horrible! i'm still running an iphone 7 and really have no desire / need to upgrade it. am i going to have issues connecting / using the app?

just following up on my previous post: i've been running the dinantronics sport tune and the app on my iphone 7 / iOS 12.4 for just over a week without any issues. in fact, it's a pretty sweet little tune and definitely wakes up the car. the acceleration and throttle response is really an improvement over stock, and reduces that early turbo-lag to virtually zero.

this is the first tune i ever put on a car, and since i'm a high-mileage driver i decided to start with something mild. i installed it myself in 5 minutes, and that includes the app download and bluetooth sync. i guess only time will tell if there's any impact on long-term reliability...but given the relatively mild boost increases with this tune, i cant imagine any really issues.

highly recommended for any beginner tuner or high-mileage driver who starts getting bored, or gets the itch for a little more power after owning the car for some time. i've put almost 40k miles on my car in 21 months...and while i still loved my 228 in stock form...i'm definitely digging this little breath of fresh air.

i pretty much keep mine on the sport+ full-time. occasionally will bump to race...there's a noticeable difference.

thanks to mike@x-ph.com for getting me set up!

Do yourself a favor and replace your chargepipe. The increased boost albeit minimal, will most likely eventually crack the plastic OEM one under hard throttle.

thanks for the advice. I guess I’ll start looking — seems like the evo CP is popular here?

Typically 6 months to a year but it's been as long as 2 years in some cases. After VWgate everything seems to take longer too.
