I am looking to update my 135 and wondering what sort of price to expect to pay, are there any discounts?

I am in no rush so happy to wait for a sale or whatever. I am in the ACT.

Currently thinking:
Mineral white exterior and Coral Red interior
Sunroof
CarPlay - but apparently this can be coded afterwards to reduce LCT?
TPMS
Lumbar support
Alarm, maybe depending on cost
Steering wheel heating, maybe depending on cost
Euro plates
BSI

Any thoughts on RRP and what a good price to pay would be?

Depends which state or dealer regarding price. But stock standard new lci edition with no additional extras and standard white paint should see you at 70k or just under if you negotiate well, drive away. Then add on what ever extras cost you.

So 75-80k would be considered a good price?

Do you need an alarm? Not sure on price.

Comes with lumber suppport

Tpms can't remember price, was it 600? Do you need to know each wheels pressure? You will know if you have a flat regardless as it will still indicate with warning.

Paint option 1500 I think? Or was it slightly more

Didn't know we could get heated steering wheel, I didn't have the option at the time of ordering.

Service plan 1340

Sunroof 1500 or around from memory.

CarPlay, you can do this at a later stage if you choose, otherwise you pay extra on luxury car tax.

I'd say 74k-76k, but depends on your dealers flexibility. Go end of month on the last day to negotiate, try several and see what can be done, end of year will see the biggest discounts.

Prices are as follows but bear in mind GST and LCT adds to these. Still they are not too bad considering I will keep the car for probably five years plus.

- lumbar is no longer standard in MY2018
- do not need alarm, no. But might swap that for radar cruise. Thought alarm might pay itself off in lower insurance premium anyway?
- would be nice if they threw in Extended 5 year warranty

M240i Coupe $67,161.00

Options
P0A96 Mineral White metalic $1,082.00
FLCL5 Leather Dakota Coral Red/Black highlight $0
S0248 Steering-wheel heating $280
S02VB Tyre Pressure Monitor $385
S0302 Alarm system $594
S0403 Glass roof, electrical $1818
S0488 Lumbar support for driver and front passenger $281
S0494 Seat heating for driver and front passenger $0
BMW Advantage Gold ? 4 year/60,000km Service Inclusive $0

Plus ORC (including Euro plates, GST, stamp duty, LCT) brings it to $91,400 but they have come down to $83k without showing too much interest yet. So that should be doable under 80k?

I believe you should be able to be under 80, when you start negotiating price be prepared to buy. Go to a dealership and tell them you are wanting to buy but only have 75k for example. then option everything up and see how far off the price is. The dealer will either do it or give you nearest price he can do. Take that price and repeat at the next dealership, but be prepared to buy as they might do 75k with your option list.

Now reading that lumber is an option on the new lci, I'm not sure i have it. Cannot believe you have to option lumber support on an near 70k car.
If I don't have it I'm selling mine when it arrives.

I have the spec sheet (PDF) for the 240 (MY18) and 488 - Lumbar Support Electric is definitely in the options list and not included (only standard on the Luxury-Line 230).

Thanks for the negotiating tips. ACT has only one dealer so makes things harder too.

You are correct which totally pissed me off when I confirmed. I cancelled my car and ordered another car with lumber support which was a mix up from the change over to lci, which was never communicated from BMW.
So another 3 month wait, I'm undecided if I want radar cruise, have to decide by Friday.

Hi Guys, forgive me for I have sinned, it has been a couple of years since I have last posted, probably around the time of my last BMW purchase actually! (428i AW sport).

So now coming up to 4 years and I think it's time to go back to a 2 series.
(still missing the 128), so looking at an M240i Convertible.
Smaller size and an exhaust that sounds like its hooked up to something, and in manual should be a little differnet to drive than the 428.

The (first) quote I got from local dealer puts a base M240i AW, CR, manual at $89,900 on the road.
I'm hoping some you you may have already ordered a convertible, and may be able to shed an idea on pricing (coupe seems easier to find).

It all comes down to changeover, and anyone want to stab at what 428I, Aw, 20", sunroof, 27000k is worth?

Pm's if you prefer, and sorry it's been so long between drinks.
Hope you all are all towards the ends of you waiting.
BMW owners learn to be patient.

That's annoying! You could not change the current order to add lumbar obviously?
Bummer, but at least you know what you are getting.

Another question; what are the chances of getting 5 yr warranty on these - I know they will say $4k+ or whatever and best case discount something... but to my mind these cars should already come with that sort of warranty included in that price (and I know there will be issues for sure; given my past ownership) - so to me that needs to be a $0 cost.

Asked if they could add lumber and couldn't do, made a new order and also changed the colour which I'm happy about. Didn't charge me for the lumber option.

Best to buy warranty just prior to 3 years of ownership. You might end up selling it prior, and you could let that 4K or whatever it is earn income elsewhere.
