great video comparison. wish I had this available when I went with a muffler delete on my 228 which was a huge mistake (sounded awful).

IMO, the m performance sounds best - throaty and mean in all the right ways. the other ones just don't have the same BMW "growl".

Nice.

Did you try different exhausts on all those buses too? :-)

Genuinely curious about the muffler delete on N20's - from videos, it doesn't seem that loud (for what the words 'muffler delete' suggest). Mine is a bit lacking in the burble department

Thanks for the video!
The iPE is louder and sounds more powerful than the eisenmann race in person.

Eisenmann exhaust sounds the best, sounds very much like my milltek exhaust. Bit disappointed with the ipe exhaust, and am glad I didn't get the m performance exhaust

people tend to be fairly passionate on the topic of the muffler delete - i have shared some other posts on this site about my experience which was that it was entirely too loud for me. having no previous experience with exhausts on my own cars, but having experienced the "classic" souped up Civic muffler sound, my BMW sounded exactly like the "bad" kind of exhaust I remembered all too well from the high school parking lot. Unsophisticated, obnoxious, and embarrassing - I went approximately 24 hours before I got the muffler put back on. I also had horrible droning. I didn't even want to drive it. Here's 2 videos I made if helpful - in my experience, the well produced videos can provide helpful guidance on the tone and things like burping, but NOT on the volume magnitude (720p + headphones best approximates the volume):

the best advice i received is to try to meet up with someone near you in person before you decide to go for it. in retrospect, even driving about 60 miles away for a quick meet-up would have saved me the money it cost to install and then uninstall.

best of luck,

bb.

curious what's driving you to say that about the m performance? i realize this is a fairly subjective exercise, but curious what makes you not like it?

I just found the m performance exhaust to be too expensive since it's just axel back. The sound doesn't warrant the price.

As you can see in the video...

It takes long long time to order a MT here, and sometimes the dealer may reject the special request for quicker turnover. Moreover, it's a no cost option (reduction) to give up the 8AT/7M-DCT for the MT.
