I totally agree. It looks more like an et35 to me. I have BBS CHR et44 with a 10mm spacer installed so an effective et34. My wheels are 9" so that is part of it, but mine are not nearly poking that much. Many folks run that size and don't have poke like you do. So odd....

Great looking wheels!

And here are pics with similar angle as yours.

Thanks for these helpful pics. Your setup is perfect and those rims

There is not marked ET of wheels inner side so I make calculates:

Width: specified size is 9,5" => so actual size 10,5" = 266,7mm

Back Space: measured 170mm

Midpoint of wheel: 266,7/2= 133,35

SO ET = 170-133,35= 36,65

So ET is totally wrong... I think that they have delivered wheels with out machining.

How are the Yokohama semis in 225 at the front? Do you feel going wider could be better or is that enough with the grip they provide?

So far so good. Theey do provide great gtip and I have only had a couple insances of understeer.

With that said. I would go for 235/265 combo next time JUST to get the bigger front. I plan to downsize to 18's and go with a square setup. The extra footprint up frot really adds traction and the loss of width in the rear is probably negligable.

Keep in mind I am AWD, so the dynamics of "traction" for me are a bit different than 2WD as I have the two front pulling me around as well...

Hi there! aftercorbu

I'm switching from 19 inches to 18 inches back on my M235i next year. Now, I'm driving the Pilot Sport 4 S currently and I like the tire very much so I want to stick with it.

Now Michelin just told me on the phone that in all catalogs from 2017 she looked into and on the current website they don't and have not offered the 4 S in 255/35/18 which is the size you posted you're running. This is the exact size I want to to drive.

She asked me, when I find a picture of the tire in the size if I can send it in to go on research because she was totally unsure. I found a couple posts in here from people say they run the 4 S in 245 or 255 in 18 inches which according to Michelin they've not offered in years or never have generally.

Do you have or would take a picture of the rear tire where I can see the size and the the tire name clearly?

I'm happy if you help me out here

Attached a pic of the car the tire is supposed to go onto. Cheers from Germany

EDIT: okay, I figured out that on the US website you guys can buy the tire in all sorts of sizes. The european website offering is way more limited. Still, if you can help me out with a picture of the tire in real life I would highly appreciate it. Maybe I can get the size in Europe aswell.

That's a beautiful choice! I can't read the tire size on it unfortunately, but that's fine! Thank you for the response anyway

I tried with a flash and had no success (see below). The "Pilot Sport 4S" and the "255/35-18" are on opposites sides of the tire sidewall, so a closeup won't show both data strings in the same photo.

Perhaps in daylight with the wheel lying flat on the ground it's possible to see both data strings in a single photo. I may have an opportunity to take such a photo later this month. I'll let you know if I'm able to take that photo.

Can you get the Michelin representative to look at this page and click on the 'Sizes' tab: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...Pilot+Sport+4S?

400M Staggered on my MG M235i

400M staggered on my M235i. Hadn't seen an M235i with these wheels on so found some nearby for the right price and the fitment is perfect, 225's up front and 255's rear

My little give back for those looking for fitment options/help and maybe car porn.
Have really appreciated others that take the time to post and give advise/opinions/facts

Concaver CVR4 Brushed Bronze (F) 19x8.5 ET40 (R) 19x9 ET46
235/35 & 255/30 Michelin PS4S
Lowered on Eibach SP springs but don't have printed alignment specs; sorry

Can't imagine going more aggressive on near stock suspension. Minimal clearance on front, especially between tyre/strut but am running 235's. Really wanted that extra 10mm for extra front end grip and to balance front/rear as much as possible. 265's would be great on rear but wasn't willing to roll dice and ideally higher positive offset would be advantageous I'd imagine. Reckon they might clear on current set up though. No poke on rear and from memory was around/just under neg 1.6 deg camber.
So far two up driving good old Aussie back roads at say 8/9 tenths (probably most peoples 10/11 tenths I'm told) front barely, barely marks the tyre shine on what feels like full compression. Only heard twice on some fairly/very aggressive change of direction 'dips'. Flowing car with heavy G loads and some compression is 100% MAY look at massaging the lip but it really does seem a non issue. Or go 225's.
Enjoy the toys boys
