Did bmw remove the secret menu ?

2015 M235
I know when taken into dealer each year they install latest software.

Go to bring up oil and coolant temp.

No clutch just press and maintain on trip odometer and then press start button.

No menu appears on the display, tried ten different attempts.

Had that feature been removed?

Menu is still available on our 2017 M240i which last had software updated by the dealer in 2020. Oil and coolant temperature are not available until the unlock function has been performed with the sum of the last 5 digits of the VIN input as the unlock code.

Maybe it was me but I couldn't unlock the secret menu, couldn't even get to the point of pressing the trip odometer as required.

Ive had dealer software updates in 2021, can't imagine it changed secret menu, but it did effect some other functions.

This is for real? Sounds like an adult version of the Contra 30 lives code! It boggled my mind that my wife’s Mazda SUV has a temp gage built into the dash and our M235i does not

You need to press start button to turn on the ignition and wait a bit till the lights settle down... then you can try the odometer hold

Although it depends on BMW model and possibly year, on our 2017 M240i just pushing the trip reset button for approximately 15 seconds gets you in to the initial menu when the car is running. Exiting the menus to return the cluster back to normal mode can also be achieved with this long push.

During the long period the button is pushed the trip odometer will initially reset to zero then return to the value it was initially set to before the hidden menu appears.
