planning on using bimmercode today, dongle, downloaded all good,
the number 1 question code with engine running, or just ignition on with a ctek maintainer

instructions say with ignition only, but all forums say engine running

coding VIM (video in motion)

No, keep the engine off and the car in accessory mode.

Accessory mode for sure, just throw a battery charger on for peace of mind

Accessory mode as said before and click your seat belt in and if you DO have a battery tender use it as well as the read process can take a while.

but aside from that should be no problem

I have another thread running, before I did anything, found my doors unlocked and only 11.xx with my DVM, car had died during the night

I code mine in accessories mode. Never on my engine. Just make sure your battery is healthy.

very weird, several ppl say to run engine (more for the power)

You want either commercial charger (25amp) connected or engine running so that voltage doesn't drop while it's coding...
