I looking at getting Carplay full screen. I have carplay activated, but not in full screen. I currently have idrave 5 on a BWM X3 - 2017.

Any way to get it full screen?

Just throwing in my two cents:

I installed wireless fullscreen Apple CarPlay using kubax86 and the process was very smooth. My car is the 2018 M240i that had Professional Navigation.

For what it's worth, I definitely needed the wireless antenna. CarPlay installed fine via the software unlock, but the phone would not connect, even jammed as far into the head unit as I could get it.

Installing the wifi antenna took all of about 15 minutes, so not a pain and it only cost £8.

Overall, CarPlay is fantastic and well worth having!

Stuck it to the panel beneath where the head unit slides into. There’s a gap between the rails, I just put it in there.

FYI my 2021 F22 M240i was delivered with full screen Apple CarPlay from the factory (build date May/2021). I think all you need is an up to date I drive now.

what's the dealer charge to update iDrive? I already have the "hack" but like to have the latest version of software. Any magic words to use to get them to do it for free?

You have to remove the head unit and there's an unused jack at the back that's for the wifi antenna. I bought an antenna from getbmwparts as it had it in stock. Installation was easy once you pull off the faux carbon fiber panel that runs across the dash. It's hled in place with 9 clips! I left the antenna coiled up behind the head unit.

kubax86 I am trying to find and install NBT2 to my 2018 f22.
I want to upgrade my screen to 8.8" (touch) and wireless CarPlay.
According to my research I need an NBT2 evo id6 head unit which coded to my VIN, screen and controller. I do not need gps module since I only use navigation with the CarPlay.

Where can I find parts for this?

Use Bimmercode first then apply changes.
There is absolutely no need to change something in headunit every 5 minutes
