somewhere i read this " Pagid brakepads are not compatible with previously used rotors, especially if used with a carbon or Kevlar based race pad. "

so was wondering what that meant....
I swap the pads back to OEM after the track day. Sometime the next day and sometimes weeks later. Just depends on how quickly the noise bugs me

Technically you should have a set of rotors dedicated to each pad as well. Not worth it to me.

I've found them to be perfectly safe on the street. Other than noise levels I prefer the Pagid pads over OEM on both the street and the track.

Much less pedal effort required with Pagid compared to OEM. Swapping back to OEM takes some getting used to

RS29 has a pretty aggressive initial bite when compare to the OE at low temperatures. In extremely cold it may be different though.

I see.

Don't they wear super fast cold on the street?
For $530 a full set that will get expensive fast

Have you used the EBC yellow before?

Yes, any race pad, when cold, will have slightly accelerated wear than at operating temperatures.

Good point. I'm in Socal so the pads never see extreme cold when first driving.
Around here I have no issue with stopping and "cold" pads.

I don't daily them. Just maybe a few weeks before and after a track day at most. The only full track pad I have used as a daily is the ProjectMu 999 pads. Legit track pad and no noise. Unfortunately they do not make them for BMWs.

EBC Yellow is not on the same level as Pagid yellow. EBC would be great for the street, but I would not use them as a dedicated track pad ever.

If I can recall driving to Wilowsprings Raceway or Bottonwillow for Winter track events, cold pads stopped just fine. It may have to get really cold for track pads not to have less friction than OE.

Some of you are wondering how the RSL1 compare to the RS29.

Bite: RSL1 has more bite
Friction Level: RSL1 has a higher friction level
Fade Resistance: RSL1 is more fade resistant
Disc Life: RS29 is more disc friendly
Pad Life: RSL1 has a longer pad life
Modulation: RS29 has better modulation

Better modulation FTW, everything else being roughly equal. Just my 2¢, of course.

Some people want better bite and heat resistance over modulation. Just depending on what the driver is looking for.
