Rear fog lights on without the headlamps?

Recently coded in my rear fog lamps and did the button mod:

http://www.2addicts.com/forums/attac...4&d=1421099515

Anyone know if it's possible to code the rear fogs so they can be turned on by themselves, without the headlights turning on as well?

I’m pretty sure you can’t, and why would you want to do this anyway? If there aren’t low-visibility conditions, where you’d want your headlights on in the first place, the rear fog lights are annoying to drivers behind you.

that's the idea. i use it as a "stop tailgating me" button. (i don't drive around with them on normally).

i was just curious if it was possible to turn them on without the headlights coming on. it turns out you can't. no big deal.

I have a '19 230i

Two questions:
1. Does anyone have a more detailed guide about how to remove the AC vent/light switch?

2. Once the switch is modified, is it still necessary to code the switch to turn on the rear fog? If so, is there an easy way to do this with Bimmercode 'app'? (I guess 3 questions).

Thanks

Thanks for this link.

Is there anything more specific about removal of AC vent to get at the light switch?

You just pry it out with a trim tool. It's not held in place by anything.

You don't even need to pry the switch out if you aren't replacing the entire thing. If you're just doing the button shaving method you can literally just pry the rear fog button out by itself.
