Gents,

Having some fun coding this afternoon. A couple questions.

First, I can't get incoming calls to use the phone's ringtone, despite coding INBAND_RINGING to aktiv (in HU_NBT 3003). Anyone else had any trouble? I'm wondering if I need to convert ringtones to a different format for the car to use them? Or maybe it's the type of phone I have (HTC One)?

Second, does anyone know what, if anything, ASD_CONFIGURATION does (HU_NBT 3000)?

Third, anyone tried activating the high-end audio menu (HIGH_END_AUDIO_MENUE, also in HU_NBT 3000)?

Fourth, anyone tried activating the Developer Menu (ENTWICKLER_MENUE, also in HU_NBT 3000)?

Will likely be more to come. . .

1) I don't have it enabled on my phone but I know it only works for some phones.
2) It doesn't do anything ... in some models it adds a menu where you can select different sounds but doesn't allow to accept...like grayed out

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, for #2, I get a menu that has various Mini engine noise options, but they can't be activated. It's just a list and clicking on any of them does nothing. Kinda figured about the high-end audio menu, though I might give it a whirl next time around for kicks. Same w/ developer, though I doubt much will come of it.

Another wrinkle - I coded the M Performance startup animation, and it showed up when idruve restarted post-coding, but it doesn't come up when I start the car. Ideas?

it won't show unless the idrive goes into sleep... usually need to lock the car and wait a few minutes...

if you want to test you can hold the radio on/off button for 30secs and that will reboot idrive and should show it

If you open your car with your remote control like 10 meters away from the car, the NBT will start to boot and you don't see it when you reach the car and press the Start button.

I will test the Video in Motion again with the 5 values. I'm not sure if I coded all 5.

ah nice catch... i always use comfort access to open maybe that's why i see it everytime

Makes sense, thanks gents. I had used the fob to test the windows opening/closing feature, so that'd be why I didn't see it.

Well, it was an excellent theory, but doesn't seem to have been the issue after all. No animation any of the three times I started up the car/iDrive today, even with ample time for it to shut completely off. The animation has worked each iDrive restarts after coding FDL and when I did a hard reset of iDrive too, but not during normal use. Strange.

Will keep exploring.

Also are you starting the car or just pressing start button?

Yes, car locked. I started the car right away each time, rather than turning iDrive on first.

Not a big deal, I'm sure I'll realize that I'm doing something weird that's causing it.

I've heard that if I want to do a foglight delete there's going to be an error code since the foglights are no longer present - is this legit/if so, can it be resolved through coding?

How long did you wait afer locking the car? Wait at least 15 Minutes, it takes some time until all control units are gone to sleep.

Yes, it could be done by coding. Remove the foglights from the VO.

It was several hours each time.

Does anyone use the send address from Google maps to your car option? I tried sending an address and it just hangs sending. Never completes. Anyone experience this problem and know of a fix? Or know if BMW is having some issues with this feature?

Yea if you call the SOS in your car. Your dealer should have given you a password. Then once you have the account set up you can send addresses from Google maps to you car. Then find them under office/messages. Its nice to use when i know i am going some where later in the day. I send the addresses and then just set the guidance.

I've tried sending an address 3 separate days and it still is not working. it used too. could this be a cause of any coding?

You need a activate a ConnectedDrive contract.

I don't think so.... does the internet connection on the car work? can you see weather or anything that uses internet?

what about making lights flash or lock/unlock with the remote app ?

It's active as I have used it before. Worked great. Just recently it's working anymore.
