228/230 4cylinder setup

Looking for proven ideal alignment settings on 228/230 cars since those have a much lighter front end and a closer to 50/50 weight distribution.

It's going to be about the same:

Front:
"A lot" of negative camber up front. -3.0 to -4+. I run "all negative" for track, it's about-4, and it's not enough but it's close.

Zero-ish toe in the front. A bit in if you like the car more stable and a tiny bit out if you want it to be really responsive.

Rear:
About -2 camber, a little toe in. 0.15* per side maybe.

Agree on these numbers, but just want to note that you will need aftermarket parts like camber plates to get this kind of camber up front. Without the camber plates, you get barely 1 degree and you will probably overwork/destroy the outer shoulder of the tires.

RacerBowie’s recommendation is good except for rear camber. I’ve found running neg 1.7-1.8 deg is better because it maximizes contact under power and no measurable difference in rear outer tread wear. Final front camber will depend on the sidewall stiffness and tire grip. His range of -3 to -4 deg is a good range but I’ve found -3.5 deg to be the sweet spot for several different tires. With slight front toe out, you can get good street tire wear with -3.5 deg camber. However, if you want a single street-track (dual-use) setup then run front -2.5 to -3 deg camber with zero toe. No change in rear geometry.

Has anyone had a oil issues once high “Gs” are achieved with -3* to -4* front camber combined with today’s Super 200 TW tires?

Would an oil baffled oil pan be needed?

I'm pretty sure I lost my motor (N20) last year due to oil starve. And that was a pretty minimal setup- Camber plates, Wheels/Tires (245 Conti Extreme Force Contact), and G-loc R8 brake pads.

I just ran my first track test today with the baffled pan and it stayed above 40psi the whole time. Unfortunately I wasn't logging that stuff back then. It would be a good idea to datalog your oil pressure so you know what it's doing. I used Bimmerlink to log it (kind of a PITA, but I wasn't able to get it through my regular track datalogger).

Would you mind sharing which baffled oil pan did you go with?

I got the Navardi baffled oil pan.
I just uploaded some video of a couple laps with data overlay from yesterday's testdrive if you want to see how the results correlate with what's going on track.
video link:

Seems like most "dips" are in the braking zones, but some slight dips in the fast left hand sweeper. Oil pressure stays above 40psi the whole time, so I think that's a good sign.

I recommend speaking with an engine builder in a shop that knows these engines. You have one close-by that is more than qualified to advise you: https://carbahn.com/.

Looks like Strom Motorsports has a B46/48 baffled oil pan kit now. However, I should note that I haven't had any oil starvation issues yet. That's the one I'll go with if I start running into issues.
