I think that LEDs became standard for 2018 model year. My 2018 M240i has them and I didn't order them separately. Maybe they are standard on he M240i.

I remember looking into it any car made after July 2017 with the LCI should have LED lights mine missed the cut off for that by a couple of months sadly

So my 220i came with them horrible halogen headlights. I’m wondering if I can just buy OEM LED housing and bulbs and swap it out.

Fortunately here in the UK we had a period where the vehicles were optioned with bi-xenons. Great light output on both dipped and main. It's just a pity the inner lamps were not utilised too as that light would have been awesome!
