hello. I recently bought a used BMW Gran tourer 220d luxury 2019 model, and of course I expected it to have carplay, but it didn't. So I contacted the eBay seller, got the code and tried to activate it, but it kept saying there was no WLAN port and coding failed. Then the seller did the coding remotely and manually, and the carplay menu appeared in the new device registration menu. But whenever I connected it to my iPhone 13 mini, it said it is not compatible, even though my phone recognises it as carplay. So I got a refund.
I found a second seller and tried to diagnose it remotely. The seller said it says there is no WLAN port. I take off the bottom cover of the HU and put my hand in, and there's nothing where the wlan port is supposed to be, and the seller said that the HU originally had a wlan port, but someone might replace it with the same model without a wlan port.
But the weird thing is that even though it clearly doesn't have a WLAN port, the car's hotspot internet is able to connect to my phone via wifi - is it possible that it can connect to my phone via wifi even though it doesn't have a WLAN port? Am I doomed to never have carplay installed? Please help. Here are the diagnostic records and pictures.
