Is there a cold air intake that does not throw a CEL, but improves sound? |

It's the same size as stock, so same filter size is used and it takes maybe 10min to install. I highly recommend getting an upgraded drop in filter like aFe, Active Autowerke, or K&N with it. Those will all increase sound and throttle response over the stock paper filter.

Not very noticeable if sound is what you're after. Maybe a 3/10 increase in sound. You'll need an open filter to really open up the intake sound.

Different part no as MPPK has an extra bright red/orange intake opening whereas M2's part is just black...

TBH either get Dinan, Eventuri if you've got money to burn, or stay stock and upgrade the filter (AFE is a good choice). Virtually everything else is noise better / performance worse IMO.

We've seen almost every intake available throw a CEL here or there but it's still fairly rare considering how many are fine. You only hear problems on forums, you seldom hear people saying there car is running great and CEL free - IE boring posts
Based on our sales, the most popular intakes are the BMS and Injen still. CTS is up there too. |

What you can do (in my opinion) is remove the intake and sell it for whatever you can get for it. It really isn't worth the hassle you're going to have to deal with for next to no substantial benefit to get it to not throw CELs.

Oh it does, it randomly stumbles while driving, jerks the whole car. It took almost 2 weeks to throw a code so I cleared it today to see if it comes right back. Should get me by until I hop on the bm3 train Wednesday.

Cts Turbo Intake
I am considering the CTS TURBO intake myself for my 2015 m235i. I have heard good feedback on it.
Most ppl say no CEL and wonderful sounds. It's some what pricey imo. |
