When I moved to Oregon in 2003, I was surprised to learn that summer did not begin in this part of the state until July, when it became warm, but not normally hot, and the rain ceased for three months or so. This year Mother Nature did not get the memo; summer apparently started about a week ago -- in the first half of May. C'est la vie, or rather c'est la climate change.
Another dry day with 90 degree temps. My llamas and dog would *love* a frost advisory!

It's extremely nice here right now. I like it, and I'm happy; that's all I've ever asked for.

Some major frost this morning and that's why I don't plant anything until June.

All other factors (cost of living, taxes, traffic, etc.) aside, what place in the USA has the best weather? I've always figured it was San Diego, California. Or maybe Hawaii.
My wife and I have decided that if we win the lottery -- and if a couple of our aged llamas die -- we would sell our place and move to Oahu. We've both lived there before, though I haven't been back since 1985. (Do you think it's changed much in 40 years? ) Given the "win the lottery" angle, we're not doing any concrete planning.

My idea of perfect has been La Jolla; San Diego is pretty much the same. I've only visited, so I'm not really sure, but I think the temps can vary quite a bit depending upon how close you are to the ocean. I was always at the ocean, and it was pleasantly mild.

It's that transitional time of the year when it can go either way. Hold on, help is on the way!

We've finally hit the sweet spot, with humidity of 35-40% once it warms up. I could do this year-round.

Nothing like a long week-end when the sun is finally shining. I spent most of the morning in my perennial gardens but it's much too cold for annuals and pots. My garage smells like a Funeral Home with all the plants waiting to be transplanted.

I thought I was going to spend the two weeks recuperating from shoulder surgery sitting in el palacio del Sol, but May Grey has been here for 6/7 days, no end in the forecast. Mid-60s for the most part

Seems like the weather for the last couple weeks has been all the same. Beautiful daytime sun in the 20s (68+F) and and nearly freezing nights. Lots of temperature swinging going on. It's hard to complain when it's this nice.
