wheels for mineral grey
hey guys, have been following the forum for a little over a year now, great stuff! i've owned several coupes now and have rarely gone away from stock, with the exception of your basics (tints, shifter knobs, front license plate alternatives, etc.) i've recently started to consider aftermarket wheels* more seriously, but have been torn between what to get for my mineral grey m235i (yes, i've pretty much gone through every thread for mineral grey and then some!)
have been going back and forth between black, hyper silver, and gunmetal. any pics people can provide of their own mineral greys with aftermarket wheels would be much appreciated! *considering 19s preferably without spacers, no drop intended at this point. will most likely be keeping my stock 18s for autocross days. |

I've seen a few of your posts and agree those look great! Are those a straight fit from the 3/4ers for the 2er or are you running spacers? Tire specs?

It's a straight swap from a 2014 335i M Sport. TPMS is the only thing that wasn't compatible.
Rear Tyres 255/35/19 (92 Y) Front Tyres 225/40/19 (89 Y) Not lowered, No spacers. |

I'm currently running the 436m in ferric grey, and as much as I feel it blends too much with the mineral grey, I haven't found a wheel that makes me really want to pull the trigger. Almost feel other 2er colors are a lot easier to match! |

Here are our 19" V803s in Hyper Silver. You can see more 2ers on our wheels in the Show Off Your VMR Wheels Thread.

That's why I say go silver (painted or polished) or gloss black, like on my car (those are the OEM M Sport wheels, powder-coated):

Was originally considering these as they're beautifullllll, but believe these are the same width as the stock wheels at 7.5 and 8 front and rear. Would prefer to go wider, especially for 19s.

You know... I have the exact same dilemma. I definitely think it's harder to find wheels that work with mineral grey than it is for other colors. I currently have VMRs in gunmetal, but I'm going to replace them at some point. I've been thinking about going with black wheels, but I just haven't been able to commit to it yet. Anyhow, here are VMRs in gunmetal for reference:

after starting the thread, and getting a ton of great feedback, feel i should at least follow-up here! originally grabbed a set of 18" AG M310s in hyper silver that were practically a steal from another forum member, but after popping them on realized they weren't the complement i was looking for with mineral grey.
managed to sell the M310s to a 1er, and after he showed me how nice they looked on his car, and immediately resenting that my car still looked stock, i went all out lol. ordered my 19" VMR710s in matte black that night! ordered all the other cosmetic m pieces as well, still finding some time to throw the others on, but absolutely loving the wheels! a quick shot before the storm came through: |

Silver on MG is very clean, gunmetal/grey on MG is a little dull, and black on MG is aggressive. Nice choice!

Old thread but I thought I'd add another one to get more of an idea what titanium/gunmetal looks like w/MG. I really like the middle of the road colors/tints, in-between silver and black.
