Arrow LSD for '16 M240i xDrive auto

Wandering almost 1h on the web I wasn't able to find the answer

Is there an M performance or completely aftermarket lsd rear diff part for an automatic (zf 8 gears), xdrive, 2016 M240i?

I'd think the M Performance diff would work. OEM part number 33108659989 or 33108659988. You may need to swap the ring and pinon over and swap the diff itself into your housing if the gearing is different. Not sure if the front housing is the same. You can find them for around $2000, sometimes less, brand new.

The work to swap parts around might be a little pricey if you can't do it yourself. But, it's not terribly difficult with the right tools and youtube video.

I'm in the same boat for a 21 m240ix. Websites have the BMW LSD with proper gear ratio but the salesman says that he is not sure if it works for the x drive or not? Anyone know if the rear dif is same between rwd and x drives? TIA

When I bought my 2019 M240i XDrive they had this one on the BMW M Performance page as a bmw part for my car. But then about half a year later they dropped it. I do not know why and nobody I asked knows why but there are plenty of people who have installed it and it works just fine.

Ironically I didn't buy it. I am fickle. I went from "I'm going to spend all my money modding my M240" to "Might as well get an M2C" to "I haven't left my house in six months maybe I should just save my money and work out more".

I think I put 2k miles on my car in 2020.
