Well I did everything I could’ve done and If something happens further on its their issue to resolve, but hopefully things work smooth.
I understand them not making it a recall problem, but not to tell customers to at least check it and either refill it or take it in for a quick refill every 2 months is subpar service, but I don’t know how these things work so there might be more to the story than we see

I have a B58 and have a BMW 50/50 coolant supply in my garage for my BMW motorcycle. I bought my car in 1/2019 and use all that coolant in my car never in my moto.

The cooling system is closed. Coolant is not a consumable. If coolant is being lost, it's either leaking out of the engine or leaking into a cylinder and being burned.

I have had the low coolant light come on twice in 1 year and had the coolant topped off both times; it did happen when the car was parked in parking lot with a strange grade/slope; the warning message seems very drastic but I usually just stop by the dealer and they top it off and fill my washer fluid.

I think as long as it’s not a safety issue they play it by ear.

The systems on the N55 and B58 are not completely air tight and some coolant is lost to evaporation over time. There could be a more serious issue in some B58s, but needing to add a cup or two of coolant or distilled water to the expansion tank is normal over the course of a year. Most owners probably don't notice it because when they have their cars serviced at BMW, most techs will top it off.

Has anyone pulled off their intake manifold and looked at the intake ports?
