[QUOTE=BimBimM2;25762886]So just to clarify the last MY for the M240i soft top convertible will be 2021? Am I getting this right?

Correct, the MY2021 M240 and 230 series ragtops will continue to be built through Oct 2021.

Sounds nice, but that's not where the smart money is. The 2 does not have the cult following that it should, these are a fairly difficult sell on the secondary market.

I would think the 1 series would have more "collectibility" factor than the 2.

Sadly, the 2 Series is the absolute best BMW nobody has heard of. Those of us who own one know how terrific the car is but the rest of the world is pretty clueless. The 2 Series, with it's coupe or convertible body style, is barely a blip on the radar of any potential buyer looking for a traditional car, and those folks are dwarfed by the rest of the buying public interested in SUV's and trucks. I don't plan to sell mine anytime soon, but I am realistic enough to know it's not going to bring nearly as much when I sell it as my much cheaper and beloved GMC Canyon will bring when I sell it. That's the market we have now and I don't see any changes, unless for some unexpected reason the cost of fuel were to skyrocket again.

Just as a follow up and point of clarification - when we say that the m240 convertible will be discontinued...it will be discontinued with the next generation build right?

As in there will be no more m240 convertibles built with the new generation in 2021 or whenever the new generation comes out?

I've owned an M6, three M3s, two 5-Series, and I believe the current 2 Series is the best choice if an owner wishes to experience that old-time BMW feeling in a new car.
