Fortunately, as someone said above, the level of R and D that goes into the DINAN setup is so obviously superior to the other piggy backs out there. You can tell just by looking at it, so even without a warranty I would feel much more comfortable with DINAN over anything else. I don't even plan on doing a dyno, but based on my very limited drive time stg. 2 is excellent. I was running the scorcher previously, which provided a nice boost over stock, but wanted substantially more power. After installing stage 2, I'm going to need new tires to keep the car on the road. The power is smooth and immediate, throwing you back in your seat. I'll post some more, once I have a chance to really push the car.

dinan tune $2-2,500 warranty

jb4, other tunes $600, $1400-$1900 on standby for broken parts(warranty).

i will go with the latter........unless dinan lowers price to $1000 for stage 2

Typical Dinan. I had dynoed the stage 1 and it also added only about 50% of the advertised gains. It makes sense though, if their business is built on the allure of a warranty, it's to be expected that their tunes would be extremely conservative.

I think it's that Dinan uses adjusted values. They are comparing power at the crank not the wheels I believe. If you look at their stock car charts, thy list the crank hp for the 235i. I watched a video that stated this and talked to the shop that installed my tune. I may be incorrect though.

OP's numbers are whp....Dinan's website are corrected crank #s. More than explains the discrepancy. Dinan is putting out every bit of what it advertises.

It was even clarified on this forum I think in the past, they report it that way to keep in line with the same way BMW reports their power figures. There was some thread a while back on how Dinan gets their numbers, it wasn't just pulling things out of their ass.
