Best price on M Performance Exhaust?

The stock tips on the MPE muffler when press all the way in will stand out roughly 1.5" further than on the stock muffler with the factory rear. I think they look better with a little bit more out there to be seen. My neighbor has a new Audi RS7 and we both notice our tips stand out from the rear the same distance. I will take that as a sign as being the correct distance for a sports muffler to look.

Lets see.

If I would have gone with the Mustang I'd get a more sophisticated muffler pair for a suggested retail price of about $320.

For this car I was looking at just over twice that price for something that probably costs about 1/2, maybe 2/3, as much to make, and now that number has climbed even more.

Everyone understands that lower sales volume cars will tend to be more expensive to buy parts for, but this seems like "holy shite couldn't you at least kiss me first ?" territory.

Bmw was never cheap but the prices for these are crazy, tuners want over $1500 for a muffler so the Oem MP isnt so bad.

My e90 MP was only $900 and it was catback (not just a muffler)

The tuners (speed shops if you are an old fart like me) pricing I can understand. So much R&D, very small sales volume, behind the board time getting all the fitment / fabrication spec / material spec / craftsman training / etc. stuff worked out, and they likely often are way behind the curve on production efficiency. I've done a good bit of project engineering type stuff & you sort of hate the small jobs as it feels like you still have to do almost as much work as you would for a big job.

BMW pricing on this part, hmmm, a swag would be that they could sell these at $400.00 US all day long & that would still leave a very nice $100 factory profit and $100 dealer profit.

Really the other M Perf parts do not seem priced that bad though, which makes me wonder if the muffler gouge is a thing where the home company would like to encourage us to drive more quite & polite vehicles. Maybe there is something to the Audi commercial where they portray their drivers as Mr. Nice citizen?

$740 shipped he said BMW raised the dealer cost on it substantially.
