The hardware agent would be for people using an iPhone/Android device. If you use a laptop it's not needed. With a laptop you connect directly to the car via the ODII cable.

Laptop > OBDII cable > ODII port

or

iPhone/Android > WiFi Hotspot > Hardware Agent > OBDII cable > OBDII port
Sorry I meant making the WiFi agent. I have bm3 but didn't feel like spending the $300 on the WiFi

Making the WiFi agent was fairly easy.

Anyone try running a e20 mix on the 91 or 93 stage 2+ OTS? Curious if small E85 mixtures run fine or do you need to reflash to the e30 Map each time.

Yes, I have run about 2 gallons of E85 mixed with 91 using the stage 2 91 tune and it runs fine. If you increase the E85 too high you will get CEL with a lean error, but at least in my car it still seems to run fine. The two gallons is about an E20 mix / 93 octane and what I use now unless I can't get to the E85 station.

Edit: Got CEL today even with the 2 gallons of E85. I clear this with my JB4, but if you don't have one or don't have the BM3 WiFi box connected this might be more irritating. Still I am going to run some E85 - maybe a little less - since timing looks better.

Add me as another happy customer for bootmod3. I'm running stage 1 91 octane on a stock m235i with MPE. The power increase is amazing and throws you back in the seat. My gas mileage and tires are suffering.

I also built the Wi-fi agent per the thread above and it's been great. Unfortunately I couldn't run the online recode from my iPhone because the button didn't fit on my screen!?!? For now I can only recode from my laptop.

One thing I don't understand is why sometimes the torque is higher/lower when at WOT. Perhaps the car is adjusting to engine temperatures etc? Anyone have a clue?
