This is a solution made for young families in EU who doesn't have the $ to buy a familiy car with 7 seats.
Which obviously within BMW only the F15 has.
There is a serious gap of money between those cars imo.
I'm up for a review of this car when it arrives at my dealer.
I'll make a short impressions of it then, in here.

Dual exhaust for 220d is the beginning of the end...

In a few years every base model will have a quad exhaust

haha...uhh...if a family doesn't have money I doubt they will be buying a BMW 7 seater. They'll be looking at used cheaper stuff. This car/minivan is absurd.

I don't think it is that bad tbh

Back before BMW when I drove a touran, this new BMW would have certainly swayed me over a lot earlier than when I came to the marque

Don't forget Mercedes followed this strategy many years ago

Mercedes A-Class (previous generation)
Mercedes B-Class
Mercedes R-Class
Mercedes V-Class

Mercedes also have the 7-Seat GL-Class
BMW is set to compete (copy) with the X7

It may be really ugly, but I would hope any BMW fan would consider it if they were in the market for a minivan.

With it's 3-cylinder engine and fake engine note, personally I find the BMW's flagship sports car (the i8) FAR more embarrassing.

Scott26 ...

You say that 2 Series Gran Tourer is for those who do not have the finances to buy X5 7-seater. Then why is there so that the next generation X1 will come as X1 L with 7 seats? Would not this car be good enough for those who do not have the finances to buy X5 7-seater?

I guess that this car will get the acronym 2 Series GT, but this will not be misleading in relation to the 3 Series GT and 5 Series GT which is completely different cars?

And so to the eternal bustle about LED. Is BMW allergic to LED? Why the hell does not todays* BMW with LED turn signal and brake lights as similar competitors have? It is shameful to buy a new car in the premium class that looks like a car from the 90s in the dark.

And finally. I hope that the cheap eBay light that illuminates the ground with a logo is a biiiiiiiig joke.
