I think I've reached the point of contentment with what I have. I'm too close to retirement to splurge on dream cars so my Porsche/Ferrari fantasies are just that. But my F23 is a pretty fine machine when all is said and done. A lot of people would love to have it and I get to enjoy it, that's a pretty good life.

Hopefully most of my life. I love the size and creature comforts without hundreds of pounds of extra BS I don't want or need.
I'll probably just keep stripping it as things that break, until I have something kind of like my previous e36. |

My last drive was today. Now it sits on a tender until the buyer flies in to drive it 800 miles to its new home.

The M240i vs. the GT3 / RS -is the difference between a quick car and a truly fast car. Having done 1 track session with a 992 GT3, the attitude that car has in the corners and as well as the mechanical grip is ridiculous, you get to see where a lot of the cost of development went. Hell, even in the Cayman GT4 the difference is evident between a dedicated sports car platform and a sporty coupe platform.

Thank you — yeah, for a modern car, I can’t think of anything I’d rather have.. so now after a recent injection of parts and labor, I’m back to BMW classic life full time.

The grill/e on the E34 reminds me again why I do not want a newer model BMW. They are grotesque. Most egregious are the electrics, which need no grille at all and yet sport this giant grotesque plastic THING! Why, why, why?

But I'm with you: kind of old school on the whole front-end design thing. However, I finally saw a new M3 in the wild the other day, and I must be getting used to the look or something, 'cause it didn't look too bad moving in traffic. I think Lexus still has BMW beat as far as unattractive front ends go. That's not saying much, but still.

In the past, any new ( or new-ish ) car would only keep my attention for two years before moving on to something else. Every time. The 230i is the first car to break that long streak. I'm not sure how long I'll keep it, but seeing as I'm at 3.5 years now and still enjoy driving it, I can imagine owning for a quite some time.
