Powerflex bushing PSA
I posted about this in the suspension section last week but feel it needs more exposure just to be safe.
I had the black series powerflex LCA and TA bushings installed just over a year ago. Last week upon getting new tires mounted and balanced, the techs at Firestone brought me in to show me the massive amount of play side to side on my driver side wheel.. the LCA bushing was toast! Only a half track day use and the rest daily driven. Powerfex informed me when I called them to report it that the bushings for the F2x F3x cars were all redesigned under a year ago because the older design was defective. They issued no warning or recall to anyone that I’m aware of. They are dealing with this on a case by case basis which I find to be totally unacceptable from such a major supplier of parts that greatly impact safety. I had the upgraded versions installed yesterday only to find that the front passenger side had also failed leaving me with variable toe. So anybody who’s used Powerflex poly bushings be warned.

Aftermarket problems.
You should mention this on Facebook since these parts have a much larger market than our very small segment. Manufacturers and retailers do pay attention to Facebook posts. |

Been off Facebook since 2020! The Indy shop I use is pretty connected so now that they know I expect more light will be shed on it.
