Serious Question - How much money will Metallica make with upcoming 2023-24 Tour?

Hello,

So how much money in total and per convert venue will Metallica bring in over their long 2023-2024 tour? It seems like more and more artists are having big convert venues now.

Just curious how much money is actually made doing these mega concert tours. I've been a Metallica fan since 1985 and those guys have had a 40-year time making incredible music.

Cheers,
Merlin

More than they make selling records.

I've been to so many Metallica concerts - last one was the big 4 tour.

They're embarrassing and have been for a long, long time. I recently watched their "Some Kind of Monster" documentary from some 20 years ago and it was clear then they were absolutely done. The amount of naval gazing and introspection was embarrassing for a metal band, i mean really, what a bunch of queens.

How much does the seat on stage go for? For that matter the cheapest Springstein seat at my preferred venue was 485 a seat and I said well I guess I'll just watch it on PBS at some point.

I heard Ticketmaster has a monopoly on these things and it's getting a bundle on ticket sales, probably more than Metallica is making, haha.

I believe that's gross sales. I read somewhere that after paying the venue their cut and all other related expenses, the band/performer is lucky to take home 10%. Then again, that guess is as good as any. I wouldn't be surprised if that estimate is way off.

$2-$3 million per show split between the band members is likely accurate.
