Harmon Kardon Equalizer
I purchased a 2016 m235i with the Harmon Kardon option back in September. I recently rode in my buddy's 2015 328i with the HK option and he has a menu in idrive with logic 7 and an equalizer. Does anyone know if it is possible to enable this menu somehow, maybe through coding? I looked on HK's website and they describe the 2 series system as being 12 speaker, 360 watts with logic 7 but there's no setting for it in idrive? This is pretty shitty on BMW's part for something I paid $875 for. I searched around for threads on this topic and there was one from back in 2014 but nothing was really resolved. Does anybody have any insight on this topic? Thanks

There is no equalizer on the 2-series, which is outfitted with the redheaded stepchild of hk audio systems. Doesn't exist, so it can't be enabled.
There are some aftermarket solutions. They will cost a significant fraction of what you already paid for the hk system.

We've got a discussion going at http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1203950 about using an outboard high definition music player that would add an equalizer through the software on the player. You can get good players for $200 or so. But that would be good only for music files you put on the player, not for the system as a whole. Really bad marketing on BMW's part to put the downmarket HK into the 2016 M235i at such an outlandish price.

The problem isn't the missing EQ. The problem is that the HK system is the one out of the MINIs, with much less power than the F3x HK amp. If you had enough power, you probably wouldn't need the EQ
