Picked up 16' M235 xdrive/auto-have conundrum
Just picked up a 2016 M235 Xdrive EB/Black with 16k miles. Love it!
Own a 2006 e46 M3 ZCP/6mt with 93k miles on it. Thought I would sell it, but now am thinking I will keep it. Can't Bring myself to part with it. I paid cash for it in 2010. It has been great. Mechanically perfect so far. None of the problems that the internet would lead you to believe is inherent in all e46 M3's... Am I crazy? Feeling conflicted. I know...new world problems!

If you can afford to keep it, then keep it! If it's accident free, all original, mechanically sound, etc., then you are likely to regret it because finding another one in that kind of shape is getting harder and harder. I've talked to more than a few car guys who owned and sold their e46 M3, and all of them said the same thing: "I'm such an idiot for selling that car."
Out of curiosity, what color is it? Let's see some pics!

Your 2006 E46 M3 is likely worth much less on the market than it is to you. If you can afford the insurance, keep it, unless there is some other issue.

We've got an F23 and an E46 (ZHP 330 not M3). If you can - keep both.

Most people regret more the cars they sold than the ones they purchased - just saying. Keep it if you can store it properly and it's not a financial hardship.

I have to agree with the others here. If there's no problem financially, keep it.

Thanks for the replies and support. I agree with an above post that says the M3 is worth more to me than in actual $ value. True that...
Oh well. I have a sickness and it is called BMW.

Keep the M3! I made sure to keep my 04 330i as long as possible. Granted its not an M3 nor a coupe, but with the 6-speed manual it was one of my favorite cars I ever owned and the first new car I ever bought and kept for more than 4 years, I took it to 237k miles and then the head gasket finally failed on me (along with that came a bunch of overheating and smoke), and then I knew it was finally time to put it out to pasture and I sold it to a BMW mechanic who was going to swap the engine and make it a rally car. I still miss it dearly, but my 718 Boxster helps me feel less sad lol. There will never be another BMW like the E46 ever again, so make sure you keep it and take good care of your M3!
