Will it be a flash done at a Dinan/BMW store or is it something a customer can do themselves via an OBDII cable and laptop/device like the flash tunes from BootMod and MHD?
As far as I am aware there are no plans to go backward so the M2 (N55) would be the only N55 application. Flash will be through a Dinan dealer only at the outset. There may be self-flashing options at some point down the road but nothing in the near term.

OK. Thanks for the response.

That's a huge market you're missing seeing that the electronic wastegate equipped N55s from 2014 through 2016 are the same as the M2's N55, just a bit neutered factory tuning and nothing else, tuning wise. The N55s in the M2 and M235 use forged cranks and the M2 has a better oil sump, but that's the only mechanical difference and is done for more track use. Theoretically, a tune on a 2014+ 335i should net the same power as a tune on the N55 M2. That's what we're seeing with the other flash tuners.

I understand though. You don't want to jump in too deep, too fast.

It's not really jumping in too deep too fast it is more a matter of resources. Do we want to focus on vehicles that are no longer being produced and are not the target market or would we rather look forward to active production models that have a full warranty to back (or large penetration markets for Dinan such as the M cars in this case) which is the market that Dinan thrives in? While we would love to go back and do all the cars we missed at some point we also have to be cognizant of the fact we don't want to end up sacrificing our core growth in the new models in the process. Resources (manpower and time primarily) are limited and we need to focus on what makes the most financial sense. Going backwards in our business model typically is not a direction that can be justified very easily unfortunately.

I also have a 2019 X3 M40i. Should pass the 1,200 mile break-in period in about 2-3 weeks and am planning on the MP flash but will wait for Dinan if something more concrete were to be announced within the next month or so.

Dinan_Engineering ,
As soon as you have official info on the B58 flash tunes, please post here in the B58 forum.
Many of us, including me, with the Elite piggybacks are anxious to replace them with the flash tune. Thanks!

Would like to know if there will be a price differential if a person had the .v1 or .v2 Stage 1

Retail is a $200 diff between the Stage 1 tunes..wonder if that will be passed along when upgrading to the Stage 2.

Flash Tune for M4 ZCP

Will the flash tune be offered through BMW Dealer Network. In Charlotte NC and dealer is Hendrick BMW. Will they install along with other Dinan products like exhaust and intake.

Thanks for reply.

Availability and Replacement for DinanTronics

Can you provide more precise timeline for availability other than Q1 and is it fair to say that the Flash tune is a "replacement" for the DinanTronics piggyback?

Couple of other questions:

1. Will there be separate tunes for civic and ZCP M4?
2. Will tune retain overrun / burble of ZCP M4 tune?
3. Estimated power and torque gains?

Thanks.
