i remember reading they have different bolt patterns, or bolt in a different place. Wont work.

I believe the calipers are the same but the rotor hat/hub has a different offset, IIRC. Was looking into this before as well. Ended up deciding the route to go with would be a 370mm F30 setup w/ m performance rotors. The M2/3/4 rotors are triple the price of OEM m235 rotors, double the price of M Performance rotors, and IMO not worth it unless it came that way from the factory.
What I'd really like to see is some proper 2 piece replacement rotors, to be used with factory calipers. One can dream.. |

No, sounds like you need to upgrade to the F8x standard or F30 msport calipers, which I believe are stamped 370. If the M2 brakes are the same as the M235i M Performance BBK, you can reference this thread http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1226936

Unless the 370mm rotors are actually lighter then I would not swap them using the stock caliper.

Upgrade you lines to stainless steel, brake pads to yellow stuffs, and fluid to motul 600 and youll be good to go.

I can only comment on what I've used.
Do you want better stopping power or clean wheels? Yellowstuffs are fantastic for street use. I wash my car every week, so I live with the dust.

rotors are widely available...
Stoptech, zimmerman, even bmw oem makes slotted and drilled.
