It is also worth tapping the caliper with a rubber mallet a few times while bleeding, to free any small air bubbles that may still be within the caliper.

Definitely one of the better videos on the subject, and very cool it's on our car. (I need to check out the rest of his videos.)
I don't agree with his front caliper sequence though. I've seen a lot of other advice to do the inside first, and then the outside. I would think that would give you a better idea of when each side was fully bled, and better push bubbles through the caliper. Probably not a big deal though as long as you are consistent and remember to do both. I would also suggest keeping track of the volume of fluid you are pulling out in your catch bottles. Makes it easy to track if your reservoir is going to run low, and to keep you from using all the fluid on one caliper if your fluid color difference is hard to see. I know that about 300ml on each rear is about right, about 200 on the right front, and 150 on the left, for about a full liter and a full flush. |

Great vid. As a supplement, I highly recommend reading the official BMW bleeding instructions for M Sport brakes found here. This covers everything from proper caliper sequence to using ISTA+ software on a Windows PC to manually purge the ABS/DSC pump of old fluid and bubbles for a complete and proper fluid flush.
