If you're worried about it just carry some tape and zip ties in your car, with those you can rig something to limp it somewhere. For instance I ziptied the map sensor to the kink in the C-Clip as my pipe broke at a seam rather than shattered at the elbow(tape is better for this)

Preventive maintenance is your best bet. Replace that CP before you start spending money elsewhere on your car. The last thing you want is to be in the middle of nowhere 100+ miles from home and it busts on you.

I bought mine used with 15K miles and drove it pretty hard but the CP only broke after I flashed the VF Stg 2 tune. Drove it with the tune for a week (incl. an evening track event) and it blew like nobody's business. It sounded like the head popped off of the block! Luckily I was around the corner from my house. I did drive it to the shop for the VRSF CP install while it was disconnected and the car drove fine. It was only 5 miles though and I wouldn't do it again...

YUP! Limp away, ideally straight to the dealer for a replacement. I did it and even got up on the highway to get to the service center. Not a problem, it just drives like a lawn mower.

I did the Evolution Racewerks full package, IC with TIC pipe and CP. No tune yet but can easily tell there is a more "full" and quicker response. Had the work done at Bimmer Performance in Raleigh .

Evolution Racewerks and VFSF are the most popular options.

Limp to the dealership, place order for M2 Competition

Seriously though if you have the time place an order for a aftermarket CP (I personally bought ER) and have an Indy shop install it. If time is an issue and you still have warranty or purchased extended warranty have it replaced for free while you wait for your new CP to arrive.

I just put MHD stage 1 on my F23 M235i 3 weeks ago and I didnt give it full throttle ONCE because I was afraid to break the charge pipe so last weekend I got my VSRF charge pipe installed.. Do not wait for it to break, if you LIMP home you are sucking raw unfiltered air directly into the engine.. why would you risk damaging the heart of your car? Get a metal charge pipe installed to keep your car healthy. You have a ~$30,000 machine and you are risking damaging it for a $200 part and max $400 labor... that is not smart in the least.

Also imagine if it bursts and a piece of plastic gets pulled into your engine, is it really worth it?

When my CP blew I had to drive about 50 miles before getting to the dealer. What are the chances that this caused permanent damage to the engine? This was about 5k miles ago and I haven’t had any issues since.
