Remus Axle Back Exh. - Owner Feedback Sought

Greetings,

As the title states, looking for some feedback/owner experience/comments for anyone who installed a Remus axle back on their M240i...

I'm considering this option inasmuch that I'm only interested in increasing the sound/tone of my car...

Appears to be a fairly easy install. Cut the rear most exhaust pipe, and install the new axle back with clamps. Price seems about right at $900. Tips appear to be a separate purchase. Done...

TYIA,

B

Check out BabyBMW.net, more of the European users are running the Remus exhaust suite.

I had the Remus axle back for about 2 months before adding the resonated midpipe. The axle back does add volume (especially the pops in sport mode) and it changes the tone for the better. It is worth doing and then, if you want more volume, you can add the midpipe later.

REMUS is our best selling exhaust for this car, start with an axle back and if you want more sound you can always add the midpipe later.

Stock downpipe + REMUS midpipe and axle back sounds amazing!!

How about fitment for us F23/convertible drivers? Axle-back, or will their midpipe fit?

Mike since you're the expert and I have been eyeing the remus exhaust just because it keeps the stock valve, how loud does it get if you added a catless dp + remus catback?

In my opinion catless + catback is way too loud.
Closing the valves helps, but its still very aggressive.

For best sound i would do stock downpipe + REMUS catback

if you want to do downpipe for the power get REMUS axle back

With valves closed you are at a 5 , with valves open 8

Mike thanks for the quick response. What if you went with a resonated midpipe on the remus catback? I definitely want to add a DP for the power/spool, so maybe I will do what you said and go DP/Axleback.

Two last questions. My m240i is an m performance edition so it comes with the m carbon fiber exhaust covers. Could I use my covers/stock tips on the remus axle back? Also, i see an option on your website for Remus responder. What is that?

REMUS responder is a throttle remap, its similar to your comfort and sport modes but gives you a lot more control with 27 different maps.

The tips that fit on the stock exhaust will not fit on the REMUS one unless you wield it
