A pillar cover removal in convertible

Hey guys - I'm finishing a dashcam install, and, not having had a BMW vert prior to this one, I'm at a loss for how to hide the wire at the a pillar gap. On my prior cars it was easily tucked in at the seam, however on the vert these are hard plastic sections with no give, and I am hesitant to pry them off incorrectly. I am also curious how much room is in there give there is reinforcement in convertibles in the A pillars for rollover protection, correct? I have only found details on how to remove A pillar covers for coupes. Anyone who has popped them off on the vert able to provide some guidance? Would love some advice before I crack a tab, or worse.

It pops off I did mine that way, was a bitch getting the wire across the windshield tucked in though that was the hardest part.

HOWEVER if I were doing it again I would not go that route. I have the Max 360 radar and escort just introduced a dash cam module that shares the same power supply. I'd do that instead and skip the whole headache. I may actually sell my dashcam and do that instead.

Thanks for the quick response - I bout a two camera unit (I'm working on a mount off the rear headrest, fingers crossed) so I need to run a wire back anyway, plus if I'm going that far, I may wire for parking mode with a backup battery - so I have to run wires to the trunk no matter what. and I actually already soldered it up anyway and ran it - this was the last open item.

So to be clear, to remove the pillar - just pull straight off carefully? or is it remove while sliding upward like I read somewhere for the coupes?

It just comes straight off, I actually did it by accident. My current camera is powered via USB in glovebox so I went across windshield and then down A pillar to there - using a Goluk camera. In my case I only really care about while driving forward facing video.

The other thing you can try that it easier is to mount the camera on the back of the Nav screen and then run down from there to passenger footwell, then along trans tunnel to meet up with what you've got in back. I did that at one point too.

Last suggestion if you don't run rear head rests (I don't) you can use one of those holes to mount the camera pretty easily.
