Which manual trans fluid and open diff fluid for M240i?
I have found the factory part numbers but I see people mention they use other brands like Red Line but no mention of specific part numbers. On FCP Euro I found Red Line 50204 for the trans and Red Line 57904 for the diff. However, the website states "THIS PART DOES NOT FIT!" for both.
This is the first trans and diff fluid change on this car. Should I go OEM or not, and why? Seems like many people prefer to not go OEM and have better luck with other brands. |

I'm at 17k miles and can definitely feel a difference than when it was new. I know doing any fluid will feel better than it is now but I want to make sure I make the right choice. Especially since FCP Euro's site somehow says it's not compatible even though the specs look to be. |

Your best bet is to buy the factory Gear Lube 4 for the ZF transmission. The differential uses a fully synthetic Gear Lube 5 like Redline 75W90. The differential is not an LSD.
