I've had these on for the last few months with zero rubbing on the street.

During this past weekend's trip to Tail of the Dragon, I finally received some rubbing (front and rear) during some very hard cornering. I haven't pulled the wheels off to see where it was rubbing, but I'm going to guess on the fender liner itself. It was very very mild, and this was during driving the car at 9/10's on some fairly crazy roads with bumps, dips, banked corners, etc.
Was this insie or outside rubbing? With the offsetz we are both running i would have imagine the risk of rubbing is on the outside.

Yes it was on the outside, as I stated I'm guessing it was the fender liner.

Based on the pictures from Tail of the Dragon, my tires tuck inside the outer lips of the fender (with very marginal room, but they should tuck).

You dont have rolled fenders right? Im hoping with very slight rolling this might be remedied, i know rear is already rolled. But i imagine just the act of it pulls them out a couple mm.

Fenders are stock on my car, no roll.

Rolling the fenders won't help if it's hitting the fender liners.

If it's hitting the lip of the fender, rolling will help. Usually you gain a few MM of clearance. I haven't looked inside our fenders to see how much it will help, usually you get some clearance by rolling the lip higher, and then pushing the outer part the fender out. It's all fun and games until your paint cracks.

I mean slight roll and tug and maybe a little bit more negative camber might help the situation.

Well I gave up the idea of doing 235 fronts for now, just went with 225/35/19 for the time being, but good thing too, turns out the Michelin PS4S is a bit wider than the PSS.

18" vs 19"

I bought a used 228i from the dealer that came with VMR V710 19" wheels. The dealer had mounted new 245/35 tires, but they are rubbing. The dealer is offering to swap to 225/35 at no cost, but those tires have tiny sidewalls, and I'm worried about flatting or damaging the rim if I hit a pothole.

I'm considering swapping to 18" rims + stock 225/40/18 instead, as they seem better for daily driving. How have your experiences been with the 225/35/19 tires? Are they livable for daily driving or would you swap to 18"?

I'm going to swap to the 18", they seem like they'll both look and drive a lot better with 225s vs the 19".

Agreed! The 18's will ride much better than the 19's will--especially going into winter!

why is it recommended that the front tire be 8.5 rather than 9.5 like the rear?

We recommend the 8.5" front because a 9.5" front will be an aggressive fitment that may require modifications and/or stretched tires. It's been done, but it's not something that we recommended as a bolt on fitment. Our recommended fitments are guaranteed to bolt on with no modification.

Another fitment question

I'm picking up some lightly used wheels and tires this weekend.
VMR 810s
F - 18x8.5 et 35 - 235/40/18 Conti ExtremeSport
R- 18x9.5 et 45 - 255/35/18 Conti ExtremeSport

I will be removing the tires for now and am planning on installing the Michelin A/S 3+ in F 225/40/18, R 255/35/18. I already tried to have the Michelins installed in 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 but that did not work on my stock 19's due to how wide the Michelins are compared to the Pirellis. I bought my car used and just "assumed" the 255 were stock size, learned my lesson.

Back on track now. Current owner has a m240i and I have a m235i. From what I can tell, there is no reason if the above setup worked on his car that they should not work on mine.

Am I correct?
Sorry for the newb question, just really don't want to order tires again and they not fit.

The 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear will fit on your car without any issues.

Just got mine in the other day. Titanium black shadow on a mineral white 240 with stock suspension. I went for 18s with 35/45 offsets wrapped in 225/255 Michelin PA4s for the winter. Going to swap to PS4s in the spring. Hard to tell if there is any actual poke, but the more aggressive offset compared to stock really helps fill out the wheel wells. Not sure if it's also the offset, or just the design, but the wheels themselves look way bigger than stock. Not quite like 19s, but close. Either way, very happy!
