I think I found the best wheel brush

well I didn't do any testing or anything - but I purchased it on the recommendation from Obsessed Garage (I purchased it in Canada through Auto Obsessed) its the EZ Detail or Speedmaster wheel brush - it takes practice to stay clean while using it, but it does the best job for any single tool. Especially for the top and behind the caliper, and it will clean that inner lip where everything accumulates. No more wheel woolies or cleaning the lip by hand with a cloth

Agreed. I haven't picked up a wheel wooly since I bought the Speedmaster brush. Really does a great job just make sure you're far enough away when using it (or wear some clothes you don't care about).

100% First time I used this brush I found myself covered in spray from wheel brake dust/cleaner

That's why I wear a black T-shirt when going this job!

Didn't take this into consideration, glad someone mentioned it.
I always end up ruining clothing working on cars

Pull out slow. LOL. It is one of the best wheel brushes on the planet. Make sure you wear some shades because the last thing you need is dirty wheel cleaner chemicals in your eye.
