Anybody else running a square 18x8.5 ET39 setup?
My tires are getting due for a replacement(225/245), I am pretty sure 255's will fit in the back no problem, and in doing some research that seems to be a recommended change and only affects the speedo by 1%, any experiences with this setup or similar? THANKS!

That will definitely fit with 225/245. 255 is big for an 8.5 and may be close to the fender then you would like as 39 is a bit more aggressive than a typical rear offset.

Ill have to take a look at the fender, I assume you are referring to the added heigh with the 255's? As it stands the 245s poke just the smallest amount, but its basically flush

Considering it already pokes some I think im more worried about the height, but the increase is negligible so I would be surprised if the larger size was an issue

I am running Michelin A/S 3+ in 235/40 front & 255/35 rear on 18x8.5 ET38 F&R. No issues.

That may be due to the wider track up front and stiffer sidewalls (higher load rating) on the A/S 3+ vs. the OE PS2

I’ve looked at pictures of the 245/35 and the 255/35, and it seems like the biggest difference between the two is in the height rather than the width.

Old thread back from the dead, but man the clearance is pretty tight between the strut and tire in my stock suspension set up. It's really just the rim guard that's close since the tire stretches away from the strut on my 8.5 in wheel, but it makes me conflicted. I worry that the 235 MP4S will rub as they are some of the widest tires out there compared to listed width.
On another note- it's so frustrating that I drive straight roads 99.9% of the time yet I'm well into the wear bars on the outer shoulders of the front tires with the middle being at 5/32. Does anybody have experience with the 225 MP4S on an f22 and if the shoulder wear is much improved? |

I think ill just take the leap after reading through 15 pages of threads I have seen a few people have no issues with specifically the MP4S on similar setups to me with stock suspension. I will mess around this week and put my stock 245's on the front and see how that fits, because a pure square set up would be sweet to have.
