Anybody ever use Fairfield County Motorsport?

Looking to have the brakes done on my M235. Rotors, pads, wear sensors. BMW of Bridgeport quoted me a price of almost 3 grand out the door with tax. Also included a parts list for the job the length of a term paper in the quote. New caliper pins all around?? This nut, that bolt. WTF?. Obviously not having it done there. Heard good things about Fairfield County. Located in Fairfield Connecticut

I have not heard of them, I’ll have to check them out sometime. I’ve been going to Munich Motorsports in East Windsor, CT. They’re very very good and it’s always fun to see what else they’ve got on the lifts. Yeah It’s an hour drive but I I’ve never felt like it was a waste of time.

I’m in northern Fairfield county. I’ve never used them but checkout Performance Imports in Danbury. Very reasonable and they do solid work.

I would find a indi shop, the pins should be able to be reused the brake pad springs should be replaced, My understanding is the caliper bolts are torque to yield so the are one time use. and have to be removed to get the rotor off. so you could look up prices of parts pads front and rear for a decent set run around $160 for the fronts $120 rears (I just did mine) rotors again about the same $140 and up per rotor. These prices are aftermarket BMW of course will be a lot more. So any shop is going to have a mark up on the parts around 30%. Then labor and shop supplies get added to that dealer typically around $200 per hour an indi figure $100. Where I am going with this a brake job is one of the easiest to do and can be done in your driveway with basic hand tools. So for under a grand you could get all the parts and do the work yourself. I also realize that doing this type of work is not for everyone and sometimes it is just easier to pay someone.
