F22 Transmission Coolant Line O Ring Leak

Guys -

No too happy with my M235i right about now.

I am almost at 12k miles, about 11700 when I took it to the dealership Thursday morning for the basic check up and first oil change.

I expected to get my car back later that afternoon after a quick oil change by my local dealership.

My service adviser called me to inform me that when the technician removed the underbelly cover, he got covered in transmission fluid (I hope this was exaggerated a little).

He then goes to tell me that the O Rings on the transmission coolant line are leaking transmission fluid and had to overnight a part to get it fixed. I just called again today to check the status and he said the part has not showed up on the truck yet, so possibly tomorrow he said if he can get a certified tech in to do the work on a Saturday.

I searched on the forum to see if anyone else has experienced this and after quick search I didn't find anything. So, I am wondering if anyone else has seen this on their M235i?

He said the transmission fluid is about 1 litter low (this is more technical than me) so, I am not sure if that is good or not. He did say everything looked fine and didn't see anything bad in the fluid they drained, like metal shavings.

Not intimate with the 2 series auto trans but to give you some insight.

O-ring occasional failure on a new car is rare but on older cars more common.

My mercedes automatic held slightly over 9.1 liters of fluid - they actually use transmission fluid as a coupling device to transmit power. So one liter of fluid is not near the minimum.

That's why cars go in for service to look for these types of minor issues.

Ok thanks for your input. Makes me feel better about this. Curious if anyone else has seen this happen to theirs?

I got my car back Saturday afternoon. So far she is running good. No issues with shifting. Going to keep a close eye on it.
