My xenon headlight controller on the passenger side died, swapped it out with a new one. Can anyone tell me how to code it to the car?

Use ISTA-D and follow the menu items at the bottom of this TIS instruction: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...ght/1VnXvOcZjd

Is there a way to code the headlights to automatically go on when you exit the vehicle in the dark? I can do this with my Audi S4, wondering if I could with the 228?

“Pathway Lighting” is activated by using the headlight flash function when leaving the car. The time the lights stay on is in the settings/lighting/pathway_lighting configuration.

Thanks Aerobod, I was aware of this approach.

My Audi turns on the pathway lighting at night as soon as I open my door after I turn the car off. That is what I was hoping to accomplish

Can you change the default viewing distance on the NAV with Bimmercode? Meaning, everytime I put in a new destination, I then have to change my zoom manually back to the 100ft distance

I haven't been able to find this in the search -

how do you disable the car ramming itself into park (safety feature to prevent roll-aways) if you are backing up while the door is still open? Like, say, revering into a parking spot and opening the door a crack to make sure you have enough clearance. The car doesn't allow it presently, can it be coded out?

Anyone know if my 2015 228i would have active sound and would I be able to deactivate it with bimmercode?

If you don't even know or hear it why would you worry about turning it off?

That's the thing , I think it might as there seems to be an artificial sound not directly coming from the engine

Check with the decoder to see if you have that option:
https://www.mdecoder.com/

I believe it is S9W1A ASD Active Sound Design.

Looks like it's not listed on decoder , would it be something the previous owner ( bought it off lease ) could have coded it to have ?

Well just coded some settings with bimmercode and it was very smooth, and even though the decoder site I was sent to check if I had active sound didn't list it , sure enough it was activated and I deactivated it and definitely appreciate not having it on .

This annoys the shit out of me too, I now have to just roll down the window and peak.

In the trip Computer settings there are options for reset and auto reset. Reset works just fine but clicking on auto reset does nothing. Anyone has the issue? Don't know if I changed this in bimmercode since haven't ever tried before coding. There is an auto reset option in bimmercode but for instrument cluster. I'm looking for the trip computer shown in head unit (central screen). Any thoughts?

I tried every startup animation for iDrive with Binmercode and it is the only thing that doesn't work. No matter which one I change it to it always shows Connected Drive animation. Is there a limitation on some models?

17 M240 without nav (don't know why that would matter).
