1/2 series depreciation
has the 1 series(and therefore likely the 2 series) suffered faster depreciation than other mainstream bmws?

Not from what I've seen. I was looking at getting back into a used 135i cabrio and the "ask" price locally still is around $36k CAD for a 2009. When I turned my 2008 135i cab in 2 years ago the residual was $32k.

good news, thx! only reason i asked is that someone posted at vwvortex.com that the 1ers had depreciated markedly relative to the gtis. bottom line; I don't think that i'll factor it into my purchase decision.

the 1-series, in comparison to the A3 for example, holds better 2nd hand values as i've witnessed. |

1 series resale values in UK not great as BMW have put a lot of very low mileage cars into the market to shift volume. My wife has a 1 she is p/ex and offer is not great. I think the 2 will be a lot better as much lower volumes
