**P0597** CEL On and now Off

On a short drive the other night, my CEL came on. Ran the codes and pulled P0597 Thermostat Heater Control Circuit Open. I searched the forum and found a few threads and information on the extended warranty option and scheduled an appointment at Autohaus.

Since then my CEL has gone off. I entered the hidden menu to monitor my temps and have found my Oil to never get above 94c ( 201f ) and my coolant slowly rises to 101c ( 213f ) drops back to 80c ( 176f ) then climbs back to the high and cycles back. From previous posts, this seems to be below operational temperature and indicative of an open thermostat. Looking for any input and why the CEL has shut off i.e. glitch in a sensor, normal behavior, etc.

Appreciate the help.
