thanks for posting the link to this vid. I love watching tear downs like this. Owning 2 N55 powered bimmers make it that much more personal.

I wonder when the switchover was on those aluminum vanos bolts. . .

Edit: For those curious in the future, I looked through RealOEM and found the old vanos adjuster (11317545959) shown in the video with the spring ended production on 06 April 2009. Its superseded by 11367583207 from 02 February 2009.

I think the N55 in the m235i is well sorted and should be extremely reliable unless you track it with high G forces

Yeah, I completely agree. There isn't a lot I'm worried about that I haven't addressed already. I recently had to change a leaky valve cover in my wife's similar miled F30; it was almost like new in there.
