Meth Injection - Share your experience
Hi Y'all,
Thank you so much for your feedback on my dyno results. The next logical step is Meth then the stage 2 turbo. But, before I bite the bullet on the meth kit, those of you whom have meth please chime in and let me know your experience and recommendation. I'm between the Burger kit with single cm10 jet and the snow performance kits. Not looking to do any direct port setups since I might return the car to stock at some point. I have the latest JB4 with integrated FSB, as well as ff harness and EWG. In addition, the car is FBO with aFe intake, ER chargepipes, Wagner EVO II Performance FMIC, ER catless DP, and a muffler bypass. Your experiences will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

If you have the JB4, I'd stick with the BMS Meth kit. It integrates much easier and has more control.
The Snow Meth injection like most methanol injection kits is universal in nature. It's a tank, pump, lines and nozzle. What sets them apart is the integration in the tuning, the quality of the kit and the nozzle. The BMS uses CM10 nozzles from coolingmist, arguably one of the best nozzles in the industry. |

I am prob going to run either 2 cm5s or cm5, cm7. The N55 motor has issues with spray patterns and can bog down. I was having some issues with the cm10. I recently ran a cm5, and could get 18psi of boost, but the timing curves were falling off. I could prob. double the meth, but mist needs to be smooth. I do not have any problems hitting 15-16 psi in map 5, so meth does not need to add much fuel to hit 18 psi. Which is about max on these turbos. I am not sure if you will be happy w that. These cars are very smooth on power, very deceptive on speed. May not give you the kick your looking for. |

So how much power is made at 15-16psi and then at 18psi? My dyno run was on Map 2 FBO, which is a 14.5psi target, right? |

Seeing your mods, BMS looks to be the best Meth kit choice for you
Gains will depend on how aggressive the map you choose is

Map 1: ~12.5-13.5psi Map 2: ~13.5-15.5psi It's not possible to have all the connections done incorrectly and still run right and interface with the laptop software, right? Thanks guys! ocN55: awesome on 18psi. Will shoot for that with meth! |

Thanks Mike. I've seen conflicting experiences with single CM10 vs dual CM5 jets. Seems CM10 flows better than dual CM5 but single CM10 can bog the motor if the meth mix is too low?

run some logs in map 5, post or send to bms to verify. Your best bet for max power is map 5. Also change plugs to m3/m4 or one heat range, and gap to .022
I will be running 2 cm5 nozzles this weekend at the track, and taking a lot of logs, adjustments, may even change nozzles there if so inclined. I am sick of fooling around with the nozzles, so I am going o get it sorted this weekend one way or another. My goals may be different than yours, my main goal is lower IAT, then smooth power. If you want kick in the pants, you may want to up the adder, and a later psi activation (say 11, 12) may emulate the feeling your looking for. |

I ran meth single cm10 in stock turbo 2 years ago. Then continued the same nozzle on stage1 turbo. Right before i got my stage2 turbo i switched to dual nozzle cm5/7 setup.
Never had any issues at all. As for 14.5 psi on map2 for ewg cars its normal. Map2 on ewg cars is not an absolute boost map but a boost additive map. So it will run x boost on top of your stock boost curve. Depending ambient conditions your stock boost curve may be higher or lower. |

I ran meth on my previous N54 and it was great at first, but became less and less reliable over time, requiring regular purging. Definitely fun, but too fiddly for a daily driver, IMHO.

Thanks again for all of your input. The meth kit arrives on Thursday and will be installed next week.
I'll post dyno numbers before/after. Btw, when running 50/50 mix meth (map 3 on JB4), does it make more power than 100 octane on Map 7? |
